We spent 2 days soaking up the beauty of Zion, surrounded by the beautiful mountains and meadows. To get into Zion, we had to drive straight down the middle of a tunnel, in the big rig. Let’s just say it was a tight fit!!
The Narrows- Day 1
On day 1, we went on a 9-mile e-bike ride into the Narrows. We got there at seven, trying to beat the shuttle bus, but sadly did not. It was peaceful up to the top of Narrows, where we hiked up Wall Street and to Veiled Falls and scaled some waterfalls.
Angels Landing- Day 2
On day 2,we did Angels Landing. You need to win the lottery to go on this hike, so the day before we asked our Bible Group leader, Stan Newell to pray so we could win the lottery and go on the hike.We ended up entering three times, one by Mom, Dad, and I. Stan clearly did a great job praying, and we ended up winning all three!!
This hike is one of the most dangerous in the US, and a guy had died 2 weeks earlier doing this hike. So i was a little nervous. The first half of this hike is all switchbacks up 1,000 feet, which felt like climbing straight up, till you get to scouts lookout, which you can hike to without a permit. I ended being to nervous and in my head to hike to the top of angels landing, but the rest of the fam did. They said the view was amazing from the top, and that is so worth the hike up.
The last part of the hike from scouts lookout to Angels Landing is very treacherous with 1,000 foot dropoffs in either side.
After the hike we treated ourselves to lunch and milkshakes in town.
