We spent a day volunteering at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. We knew about this sanctuary from one of my mom’s friends who worked here. We were able to volunteer for a day with the amazing dogs.

We started with a tour of the sanctuary, which has pigs, birds, cats, dogs, bunnies, and wild animals. We were able to stop by the cats and pigs to pet them and say hi. We also went and had lunch at the on-site cafe.

After we went to Dogtown where we were split up into two groups, Dad and I and Mom, Breton, and Lane. Dad and I walked 2 dogs, Heezy, a pittbull and Dixie who, was blind. When we walked Dixie she would walk in circles and then continue walking forward it was the cutest thing ever. After walking them we went into the kitchen to do dishes and pack treat bags for the dogs.

The other three walked three dogs and then did laundry for the dogs bedding and toys.

A couple days later mom and breton loved it so much they went and volunteered two more times!!! Cleaning out dog runs.

It was an amazing experience getting to volunteer with the sanctuary.

All the dogs were lovely and super sweet.
